Images from a Second Day session always take my breath away! These lifestyle images are taken in the hospital roughly 24-48 hours after birth arrival. The session is roughly 45 minutes and is meant to be very relaxing and natural. Once new parents come home from the hospital theses moments can quickly become a beautiful blur. This is where I come in! I enjoy capturing a moment in time for parents to have for years.
Barton and Brandon Hodge decided to have in home lifestyle photos done instead of Second Day hospital. Both sessions are basically the same except one is in the hospital and one is in the comfort of your home. The lifestyle newborn shoot focuses primarily on the interaction between the new baby, his family, surroundings. It is less centered around obtaining the perfect pose. Having your photo session take place in your home provides a level of intimacy and a personal touch to your lifestyle images that might be missing from the hospital session. Imagine having images of baby in his own nursery or snuggling with Mama in their favorite chair.
I love these Second Day Sessions. There are so many details from the first few days that are so important. Baby Camille arrived and met her family, including her big brothers and big sisters the previous night. These photos are from when she is not even 24 hours old…so tiny, so beautiful. The hair, the tiny toes, those lips…perfection. Welcome to this world precious little girl.
I would like to share a blessing I received today. A couple months back Jackson Hospital asked photographers to submit nature photos to display in there new renovated unit. A panel of judges would go through them to decide which would have the honor of being in the unit. I submitted the photo below. I received an email today letting me know that it was chosen to be a part of a permanent installation in the unit.
Today, I had the wonderful blessing from a family to photography their new gift from God. This session was not a birth session but a "Second Day" hospital session. The little precious gift was the first girl in their family. She has two older brothers to help watch over her. Congratulations!
